Goodbye from Hamster

Post by Galbally »

OK, Hamster asked me to post this for her, she doesn't want to come back even to say goodbye because she doesn't want to personally be involved in another round of snide bitching, whatever the excuse is, but I don't mind because I am not pregnant or in a difficult life situation, so if you want to say unpleasant or loaded things, you can say them to me if it pleases you. Anyway, thats enough of the melodrama, here is what hammy wants to say:

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I asked Gal to post this for me because I couldn’t do it yesterday; it would have turned into one of those threads again. I also wanted it to come from someone other than Pinky who seems to be getting a lot of criticism for standing up for a friend. She admitted things on here about my life that I could never have done on an open thread. She made things move for me-who knows if I would even have been able to enforce the deadline of the 20th for OM to move out on my own. Now I sit here on my own and sad but at least not in fear anymore. I want to say that I support Pinky’s actions fully and thank her for it.

I felt that leaving this way was cowardly but I have to put myself first for a while. A goodbye thread would have had people bitching again as I see is happening already. I really don’t want this to turn into a fight-please. My reasons for leaving?

Firstly I felt that my flirty style upset people and I seemed more often than not to take that from people. I have had private messages and comments on threads about it.

Secondly I came here to have fun and be a part of a family. I had that for a while but all the fighting is just ruining that. I could feel the stress in my own life affecting my baby and I couldn’t get a release form that anymore on FG.

Lastly I felt that being around FG was forcing people to see issues in my life that became very public-that may have happened because Om and I met on here and maybe not. I feel that to move forward with my life I have to move on from here.

I am sorry to all the people I let down by going. I don’t know what to say except for the fact that I hope you can forgive me sometime? Pinky, Gal and Betty can give you my email address for those that want it.

Galbally-you have been a friend and given me support when I needed it most.

Flopstock- I only hope you can forgive me. I owe you more than most here and I want to say thank you for everything you have done.

Betty-I just don’t know what I would have done the last few months without you. A life long friend and soul mate.

Pinky-We are so alike it is untrue. I thank you for everything you’ve done for me.

Carla-What an amazing woman. Strength and support for me in times of need.

Minks-A true friend who says what I need to hear and not what I want to hear.

Nomad-A tormentor and a friend rolled into one. THANK YOU.

Redglitter-A good friend and the guts I wish I had.

Cher-The most warm hearted person I have ever met.

Wendybird-Your laugh and sense of humour kept me smiling when I should have cried.

WW3-A new friend so alike in our humour!

Accountable-thoughtful and kind always.

Jimbo-An honour to meet you and to call you a friend

SuzyB-You’ve been there through thick and thin for me.

Guppy-My true friend and amazingly caring woman.

Imladris-My true friend and co-conspirator in humour.

Novelty-you gave me the strength to see what was really happening here-a deepest thank you. Don’t ever stop caring.

Aussie Pam-a good friend who makes me smile!

Spot-you always tell it like it is and thank you for that and your hospitality.

Koan-a true thinker and a wise friend. You said what I needed to hear yesterday-thank you.

Clancy-You dirty saucy bugger! Just like me! Thanks you for letting me be myself.

K Snyder-somebody I can have fun, laughter and series debate with. Thank you for that!

Marie-You made me smile and you made me happy.

Uncle Kram-An amazing deep hearted man who keeps me laughing.

Cars-a true gentleman.

Fisher-you make me laugh and you make me think. Thank you!

Helefra-one of my first friends here. Shame we never got to meet up-stay as special as you are?

YZGI-So much humour and heart in one special guy!

Rapunzel-Your support to me was vital at times and your heart is so full of love for others.

Elvira-you are a strong woman who I admire!

Pantsonfire-We shared a special friendship for a brief moment. I wish we could have kept that.

Raven and Voodoo-I am proud to call you friends and I know we will stay in touch!

Chonsigirl-The most amazing spirit and kindness I have ever seen.

Diuretic-Thank you so much for your friendship and wisdom.

Shweet-Your strength and friendship is inspiring.

Rain-I will get around to sending those recipes soon!

Snooze-A good friend to me always and true to herself!

LC-I never had a cross word from you-always concern for me.

I am sorry if I forgot people but my head is in a mess at the moment. And to those missing: Zinky and Cheshire Cat. Thank you for all the memories I carry in my heart.

You have all affected my life in so many ways. Please take care of yourselves and stop the fighting from turning the Garden into a weed patch!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

So, another decent, well-loved person leaves FG, any questions?

I would like it if all of the members on FG would be so brave to post a thread entitled : Who I Am

Not your history, but the present and beyond...

Share your deepest fears, the things that you love and the things that you hate,

your beliefs, your hopes and what you yourself wishes to become.

I would like you to use words, video and pictures,

I would also like you to paint or draw a picture,

your favourite colour, number and the explanation...

I am just thinking out aloud here, so just ponder this proposal please, i will make a template for this suggestion:thinking:

Sure will miss her wisdom on the "Ask Hammy Thread"!! I admire her for taking this route to healing for herself and only wish the best for her and baby, and children that need a "healthy" Mommy.

This was the most thoughtful, eloquent and tactful goodbye I've seen on a forum.

You are a very wise woman Hamster.

I hope you will feel at home here again one day. In the meantime, enjoy your pregnancy. We will all be waiting anxiously for news of the birth.

A couple of suggestions:

When someone backbites you, take it to PM and leave it there.

Don't be spiteful, you only make yourself out to be an arse in the end.

Sympathize without pretending to know all (something i have been guilty of)

Empathize by putting yourself in their shoes for 5 seconds before bumping your gums in ill will.

Use the manners you would use in front of your real-life friends and when you say something you know may be misconstrued, use the handy-dandy edit button.

I know I'm not perfect and I've probably ruffled a few feathers here and there, but the thing that makes me spat out so quickly is disrespect and lack of manners. I, myself, will choose to be a bit more careful with my words, but staying true to myself and the opinion I offer in the same breath.

Now, somebody help hold me to this :-4 :wah:

Anyway, that's just my 2cents worth. I hate to see Hammy go, she was very likeable but hopefully ours paths will cross elsewhere.

And Gally, if you will, extend her my best wishes:-6

Good post AF, and I agree with you, I also accept that I have been guilty of all those things myself as well. I will certainly extend your best wishes to hammy at some stage, she will be glad to see that people think well of her I am sure.

I snort in a derisory fashion at your challenge young man. It will be like taking candy from a baby. I spoke to a dietician about my weight. It seems that the problem with the vast amount of food I've been eating is that I've only got one arsehole.

That would be my wish as well, and I don't really think anyone here holds her in ill-will, so although I don't think she wants to come back, later on in time I will try as I am sure other people will, to get her to come back. Whether that will happen I am not sure, as she thinks that her style of posting and being on FG is frowned on by a few people and she feels uncomfortable.
