I'm working on a few projects right now so I'm around but not posting as much.

Here's a picture I drew awhile ago. I'm hoping to turn it into a painting soon.

I immediately thought of Gustav Klimt's 'the kiss' and also of Rodin's 'the kiss'

When I looked at your sketch, I saw more than a kiss, though. I saw tangles, greed, passion, force..............

It's not as fluid as Klimt's or Rodin's pieces, and I think offers more to the viewer. What were you thinking of when you drew it?

Ps - I majored in Fine Art, and was really glad to see your sketch - keep them coming!

pps - who are your influences? What is your favourite period?

I took a photo from a magasine and outlined all the areas of light and darkness. Their hair looked like tree roots intermingled, which strengthens the mingling of their bodies in the kiss. After I outlined everything I converted it to the pencil drawing.

I don't draw like that if I have nothing to look at. I need a photo to work from.

That's exactly how I started out. Eventually the images just started appearing in my head, and then I'd get them on paper.

I'll try to take some pics of mine tomoz and get them on here.

Really nice Koan, I bought some paper and charcoal recently, in fact I bought water colours, acrylics, oil pastels, pens and pencils. I'm going through an experimental phase in my life right now. I've no talent but it's relaxing and fun. I especially love the charcoal.

You might surprise yourself jenny. Once you get comfortable using a medium it's easier to find your style.

Here are two paintings I did for my parents. They are my versions of famous Canadian artists. There are two more I'm waiting to get clear pictures of.

These are Shoreline (Emily Carr) and Pic Island (Lawren Harris) done in watercolour

Since you think you're a magnet, are you offering to pose for me?

We could just get Suzy to take the pic.

Did I mention how much I like arches????

Here are a few more - all from Florence and Venice.... only one with a 'door' type thing going on, but there's plenty here for inspiration.
