Sirens have been going off

Post by 911 »

We've had some pretty bad weather here today. The tornado sirens have been going off all afternoon.

A high school a couple of counties south of me was hit while the kids were still there. There are injuries but no deaths, so far. The hospital was hit also. People were locked down in the WalMart and not allowed to leave, but I don't think that building was hit.

Just south of me in my county a tornado hit but luckily there wasn't much damage, just power lines down and trees down. Tornados usually pass just south of my area and into the next county.

There is a dog track over there and they are warning them on the TV to take care of the dogs and take them to appropriate shelters.

The flickering of the lights shut down my puter and I had a heck of a time bringing it back up. It's getting lighter here and most of the storms are gone. I hate to see Spring and Summer come. this is the kind of weather we have all the time this time of year.

Whew, I'm tired! Running back and forth to the TV and windows. I'm plum exhausted! :)

It's all over the news here (So. Fla.). Sounds like it's very bad, I feel terrible for the families of the kids that were hurt/killed. I grew up in St. Louis, we had tornadoes from time to time...I'd much rather deal with the hurricanes here. I hope you make it through the bad weather without a problem.

That's the storm system that passed directly through my little town yesterday morning, as well. One went over my clinic and scared the bejesus out of me. We had one hit last weekend and destroy a few homes. They just pop up out of nowhere. And, it is way too early to be dealing with this. Makes me wonder just what sort of storm season we're really going to have.

I saw one father interviewed on the news. His son was a student at Enterprise high, and he'd not been able to reach him yet. It's awful what those poor people must be going through :(
