" A total lunar eclipse takes place on 3rd March 2007. All six hours and five minutes of the event, from its first to its last penumbral stage, will be visible in its entirety from all parts of the UK, Europe and Africa. The Moon will appear to rise already eclipsed from all parts of the Americas, with the exception of Alaska, while the Moon will set during the eclipse from most of Asia, India, the far east and western parts of Australia."

Thanks Galbally !!!!! Even if I missed the event, I still felt the magic. Woke up in the middle of the night and danced. (It was a very hot night here).

I was lucky enough to get to see a lot of it through very powerful binoculars, it was extraordinary, you really got the sense of being "north" of the moon's orbit (which is of course around the centre of the planet at the equator, so it gave you a really good impression of where you are actually located on our globe, and we had a very clear cloudless night here, it was perfect! :-6

Is that a shading effect from the light and the shadows?, a telescope would be brilliant, you should be able to see some pretty amazing views, though if you are in a city that would spoil it a little, still, pretty cool! Its great when nature puts on a free show for us. Sun eclipses are really extraordinary, and I've only seen partial ones, never a full one, I'd love to.
