crazygal's breakdown on how to run a forum

Post by koan »

crazygal in Anything RANDOM goes here wrote: General Chit Chat General discussion area for all topics not covered in the other forums.

Oh really? Not many read that.

I've noticed that crazygal has been tracking all the organisation problems at ForumGarden and has many suggestions on how these can be fixed. I'm having trouble following it because the advice is scattered over so many threads on the forum. I thought it might be helpful to give her a thread for just this purpose so that we can get a coherent list.

I'm just interested in hearing your opinions. I've noticed how much it annoys you that we don't have moderators merging threads and a few other things. I'd like to hear the other thoughts you have on the subject.

Well I have already said in a thread I started asking about Moderators. If you want to ask me something personally, try PM. As far as I was aware this was a public forum.

Well, as far as I'm concerned, the point is that if you have suggestions for the administrator you ought to post them in Problems, Solutions & Feedback. Like I've told you before.

That's why I started this thread for you. He'll look here first when he has the chance.

To summarize the thread you put in General Chit Chat:

Mods, who are they?

http://www.forumgarden.com/forums/showt ... hp?t=25304

I've seen loads of threads that need merging and moving though. Dying to do it. lol

Admin whoever you are, please can we have more Mods to do these things? Maybe a poll for us to vote a few members? Pretty please?

there are a few in the wrong places as there are SO many different forums, it's sometimes hard to know where to start a thread. You would find them if you subcribe to your own threads or just click, 'My Topics' at the top.

If there is another thread you've started in the Solutions & Feedback area that I've failed to see then you might paste a link to it so we can combine the two.

Somebody is either extremely bored or obsessed with me. I'm hoping it's just bored. :-2

I do see a thread in this area where you are asking how to use the Ignore feature.

I'm surprised you didn't know. You seem so knowledgeable about everything else to do with the place. Regardless. I'm still hoping to hear the rest of your ideas for fixing the joint.

Gee crazygal :)

To an objective bystander

It just looks like Koan was trying to gather your thoughts under one roof, so it would be easier (for Tombstone and others) to find, read and address.

Am I interpreting this incorrectly? :-6

I find it odd that instead of accepting the fact that koan is giving cg a spot to complain and nitpick fg to pieces. she is asking koan is she in love with her....isn't this a form of narciccism?
