Today is mothers day in Ireland.

So of course, being a good Irish son, I am bringing my mam off for a spin in the countryside and being generally nice to her, as opposed to the usual insults and violence. But I was wondering, is mothers day held on different days in Britain and America?

Ours is the second Sunday in May, Galbally.

It's Mothering Sunday here in the UK as well, it's all tied up with Easter which is why the date changes each year.

Though I think the USA have it on a set date each year.

Youre going to bring her back though right ? You cant just leave her out in the country.

Yes I was sorely tempted to not bring her back, but in the end I did, cause I am a bit soft hearted and she looked lonely on the side of the road. You will be glad to know there is one little Irish mother who is safely home tonight. :wah:
