Assumptions

Post by Lon »

The old saying "When you assume, you make an ASS out of U and ME", is true and we all do it, unfortunately.

Don't we make certain assumptions about TEENAGERS, LIBERALS, CONSERVATIVES, ATHEISTS, OLD PEOPLE, CORPORATIONS, POLITICIANS, LAWYERS, ETC.

Be honest, what assumptions have you made recently that are probably not 100% accurate?

I make assumptions that most posters lie.

You mean posters like Jim Morrison Rocks is a lie??

Well I am glad you discovered that to be a lie.

My assumptions I found to be unfounded in the end,

Most folks from certain countries have criminal tendancies.

All people who deal with the legal profession abide by strict codes always.

Women are the weaker sex

Media is always correct.

Need I go on.

Assumptions about parents

All parents want to do what is best for their children

All people know what they want

All parents want to be proud of their children

All people have the potential to learn and change

Everyone is responsible for their actions and choices

Educators are there to serve the child, and through

extension, the parents

Parents love hearing positive things their children do

Parents become protective when they are always told

negative things about their children

Motivation

Everyone wants to do what is right ;)

Everyone wants to find better ways

of doing things

Everyone wants to achieve things of

which they can be proud

Everyone wants to belong to a group

that achieves the extraordinary

Everyone wants to earn respect and

recognition for what one is and for

what one achieves.
ALOHA!!

MOTTO TO LIVE BY:

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, champagne in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming.

WOO HOO!!, what a ride!!!"

I assume there is a reason for this thread. I'm kidding, Lon! :D

I have a hard time with the line between positive thinking (everything will be ok) and assuming the worst about people who have, quite frankly, behaved badly towards me.

All negative assumptions about conservative Christians, Jewish settlers, Miami Cubans, white supremacists and gangsta rappers are correct. All of these people are human garbage and should be denied the right to marry or breed. Just my opinion!
"Should any political party attempt to abolish social security, unemployment insurance, and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group that believes you can do these things. Among them are a few Texas millionaires, or businessman from other areas. Their number is negligible and they are stupid." Your opinion...based, I assume :D , on years of scientific study of these groups?

Yuck!!

What makes you any better than the white supremecist? They hate based on color. You appear to hate based on politics. Hate is hate. The reason for hate does not make one group more or less noble than another. Just something to think about.

I assume too much that people always have good intentions. I'm less and less disappointed these days than I used to be when I was younger.
