Does anybody here play a guitar? I have a Acoustic guitar a friend lent me and I am thinking on giving it a try. I was told I can find a few programs on the net to help me learn. Has anybody here tried that?

Clancy and the Irishman are adepts, I'm not sure whether they use computer learning packages though.

Who has a spare two minutes to play in this month's FG Trivia game! ... My other OS is Slackware.

First chose your style - do you want to strum so that you can join in with a session? Do you want to play lead with a band? Do you want to play classical style so that you can play something complete in itself?
Makes a huge difference to how you learn

Q: I would like emulate the recorded style of Django Reinhardt by the summer, how should I proceed?
A: Learn to mime.

I am just looking to play like around a campfire. Nothing like a lead in a band. I don't think I would ever make it that far.

My brother (a virtuoso himself) helps organise a guitar festival every year in Birmingham where top strummers, including some relatives of Django Reinhardt fly in.
I play a little bit. My favourite chord is Hm7 :yh_giggle
