What is Class?
It would appear that most of us are in agreement about who has class and who doesn't, but what is class and how do we define it? Is it the way the peson dresses? Is it their personality? Their talent?
What do you think class is? Are people with class better people?

What is Class?
Class is that element that you know when you see it. Even peasant people can have it and rich people are not assured of having any. It's not about clothes, it's not about money, and often it's not even social status. It's about self conduct and is more an essence of someone's personality than anything else. (IMO)

Right on! Interesting isn't it? You can't buy class either.

I define class as integrity, a person who has a high ethical standard, honest and forthright. As Red says, it has nothing to do with a class system, rich or poor, IMHO class/integrity has no social boundari
I disagree with your statemaent about 'who and who hasn't ' got class, your definition of class may be extremely different to mine.
BTW you have an American flag but say you're from New Zealand? what's that all about.?

Class deserves respect. Class is in line with morales and dignity.
A classy person is someone who takes care of themselves and present themselves in a light worthy of respect.

What is Class?
I would believe class is a combination of alot of things. Personality, how a person presents themselves, how they dress, how they walk and talk, and how they keep themselves. I think it also would be, they talk and get along with everyone. There is so much, I think , involved.

And the only people mentioned seems to be stars and politicians, or just famous people. How do you any of you know whether or not they have class? You don't know them. They may not have any class at all but a good publicist and management.
The reason I asked that question Lon is that I have a Kiwi standing at my side right now and it was he who posed the question..........he says putting an American flag under his countrys name is not very classy........:wah: i don't think i'll write what he said next:wah:
Most of us are only privy to the public persona of famous people and that public persona will detemine, rightly or worngly, what is class. Anyone that posts on Forum Garden for any length of time has developed a persona as well, but I won't get into that one.
Sorry about your friend. If it's any comfort to him, tell him I fly the NZ flag beneath the American flag on my home in California, and when in New Zealand I do the reverse. I am presently in NZ and there is no way that I can display both flags. I am married to a Kiwi and have been coming down to NZ for 15 years, November to December. We have families in both countries.

I think class does not mean better people,I just think it means people with manners and thoughtfulness for others.
Good thread topic

Exactly, just look at Rosie Odonnell, Ozzie Ozbourne, Heidi Flice, Anna Nicole, OJ, Bill & Hillary, for starters.
