Best riding car I owned was a 1974 Citroen Dayne soft topped 600cc sports car, if you're going to do naff do it properly that's what i always say. If the girls laughed when they saw it I knew i was in for a good time as all the ones with no sense of humour disqualified themselves automatically.

The engine blew up going 90 down the M6 just outside lockerbie. I always remember the technical term the RAC guy used to tell me what was wrong "it's F&*&^%D" he said.

I think we talked about this many moons ago. Talk about laughing at cars, I used to own Renault 4RV?, it had to be the most ugly car Americans ever saw. It had only an 18? HP engine, (today many lawn tractors have 20+ hp engines) top speed was about 56mph. It was about "8-1/2" feet long, maybe around 4 feet wide. The "engine noise" was unbareable at top speed, you could not carry on a conversation without shouting in each other's ear. Which was not that hard to do, as you almost touched the other's ear when you turned your head towards them!!!

As for the biggest car I ever owned, it had to be my 1960 Lincoln Continental "Convertable. It had to be around "22" feet long, 9 feet wide, and get around 10 mpg. Needless to say, it in no way would fit into my 20 foot long garage!!! Poor planning on my part, whoda thunk it? :wah:

Mmmm, using the brand marque `Chevrolet` is a bit of a con. It is in fact the old `Daewoo` brand - i believe they were a Korean / malaysian company or similar who went bankrupt with the largest debt ever (despite making reasonable cars for the price). However, in the UK we have an even more embarassing car, the Smart car, which I believe is about two thirds of the size of the `Chevrolet` Matiz!

It is indeed, daewoo sold the car bit to general motors but not the name. Smart car is two thirds the size but twice the price. Daewoo is Korean like Hyundai both use british designers. Get beyond the badge and it's surprising what you fine.
