Just making my introduction. :) I'm always up for meeting new people and discussing/debating any topic, so feel free to hit me up about anything! Anyway, you'll see me around. I usually just dive right in. ;)

Nomie left out "Free Will or Determinism" for some reason. I think we need that answered too.

Yes, yes, I know... I was begging for it!

So, let's see. Though I can usually see either side of a debate, and at times enjoy being devil's advocate and arguing for a side I don't truly believe in just for the hell of it, (hey, sometimes you have to see the other side to see your own better!) I'll just state what I think and believe on these topics.

1. Eh, a toughy. I'm firmly against abortion as a form of birth control, as some of these idiots seem to use it. And I definitely don't believe in it after a certain amount of time in the pregnancy. I believe women should exercise strict control over their reproductive system and truly want a child, and be ready for a child financially, mentally, etc., before becoming pregnant. But... if a woman is raped and gets pregnant, she should be able to choose whether she wants that child or not. Also... if a woman finds out that her child is terribly deformed in the womb, or has some horrible, lifelong disease, I think it's her decision if the child should continue or not. That's where I think a little logical Darwinism should come into play. But, in general, I think abortion is an easy cop out for a woman with cold feet.

2. The death penalty.... I'm for it if the criminal has been proven guilty without a doubt. If a child molester admits to his crime, I think he should be killed, no questions asked. I care absolutely not at all for his life. What an f'n waste of space! And, if we let that moron live, we'd be supporting his pathetic little life in prison with our tax dollars. No thank you. If it were up to me, all proven rapists, murderers, molesters, etc. would be taken out and shot, facing the gun, thank you. Or, take it a step further, put them all on an island with no supplies and no way off and the problem should take care of itself. We don't have to kill 'em, just give them the means to kill themselves. At least we wouldn't be "murdering" them point blank, which is why a lot of people think the death penalty is wrong, because two wrongs don't make a right and all that other bull. If someone has no regard for human life, why the hell should any of us regard theirs?

3. Racism.... what a waste of time. Now, I'll be the first to admit that there are definite differences among races, but I chalk that up to different cultures not races. Yet, it's easy to define cultures by the race. I think it's absolutely ignorant for someone to think any black man would be the same as say, Snoop Dogg, because they share the same race and therefore hate him because they dislike Snoop. We are all individuals, regardless of our color, although may ascribe to a lot of similar tendencies within a culture. Anyway, I'm half-Mexican, my dad being full, so I'd be a complete idiot to have an issue with race! Oh, and I certainly don't believe in the notion that one race is more superior than the other. Come off it, what a lazy way to define a good man from a bad one. By the way, where does Jesse Jackson get off calling Imus a racist when he calls the entire city of New York "Hymietown"?

4. The Catholic Church.... first of all, I don't believe in all that Jesus crap, and mind you, I was raised in a very strict Christian family. I've always thought it would be a good thing if Christ had sex and a wife and a family, because then we'd have a role model for all that. The problem with the Catholic church is this... 1.) they need to let their priests/popes/whatever have sex. This is a fundamental part of being human. 2.) Because they don't have sex, I wonder if a lot of the people wanting to be priests have some sort of sexual problem (i.e. pedophilia) to begin with and are looking for a way to escape that by joining an organization where their role would exclude sexual intimacy. But... problems usually follow you wherever you go. And, lo and behold, there are little children at their disposal.

As for "all that religious stuff." Yeah, some may be serious about it, but I don't believe in Catholicism one bit anyway.

5. Palestine or Israel... Well, I'm not one to keep up-to-date with who's having a war with who, I think it's all pretty useless, but I understand the general gist of this ongoing battle. If the two can't live peacefully and stop fighting over a piece of land that technically shouldn't belong to anyone (I believe in what the Native Americans said, we're just using the land, we don't own it), than I think I'd pick Israel. If one must own it, I believe it should be the ones who owned it first. I also believe that the United States should stop backing Israel and let them hash it out between themselves. We don't need to meddle in this age-old issue that may never resolve. For God's sake, this has been going on since Christ's time. I highly doubt it'll be peacefully resolved in ours.

Phew. So that's it for now. Thank you Nomad for letting me stretch my mental muscles. And to all who are patient enough to sit and read all that. Yes, I tend to get long-winded. I need to work on that. :D
