I've answered to that before.

Never really had a nickname though. Some people seemed to have twenty of them. What's the weirdest thing you've ever answered to?

I was Clam or Ter to my mom. I'm Young'Un or Young Blood to my dad. Little Willy to friends of my dad (He's Willy to them.) Beautiful to my uncle (he needs his eyes checked) Beautiful and Honey to my cousin Brent who also needs his eyes checked, Sweetheart to some of my friends, Boo Terri and Sugar to my best friend, Pal to my second best friend, Lover to my grandmother (that one was always kinda weird) Little Squish and Sweetheart to the guy I almost married back in my 20s, Blondie to people who knew me when I was real small, before I got red hair, Teresa, even though my given name is just plain Terri; Louise to some who use my middle name, Circe from my early forum days, and Red to quite a few.

It seems like a lot but it makes me feel special that everyone who loves me has their own special name for me, rather than just having one that everyone uses. :)

Here in the States the name 'Rob' is uncommon I guess; the preferred nickname for 'Robert' is 'Bob'. So I've gotten 'Bob', 'Rod', 'Ron', and 'Roger' (???). The hell of it is that, even when I've corrected them, many people seem to already have cemented the wrong name in their brains and so after awhile I just stop trying. :-5

For awhile I tried going by my middle name just to be different (I was young). My middle name is 'Creighton', pronounced 'CRAYtun'. The spelling of it, however, had people calling me 'CREGtun', 'CRYtun', or (the worst) 'CREEtun'; that last one convinced me to give up and go back to 'Rob'.

For a few years I had the nickname 'Muad'dib'. I rather liked that one. :D

Many years ago, I had a delightful young Filipina customer who had a great deal of trouble pronouncing my first name. It sounded like "Retread" when she said it. Didn't take long for the other guys in the store to catch on to it.

I quite liked it !:D

I did have a funny one a week ago-the kid must have been watching Comedy Central or something. He asked me if I had Olds-heimer's, but that was unique enough I laughed!:wah:

Primo, at school. They were just weird, the people I was at school with, but nicknames were the fashion at the time.
