For the same reason that a known convicted rapist (boxer) was allowed into the country! (bet he didn't even have to get a work permit to fight!!!0
Answer! - Because our government will make money out of it!

OK - please don't anyone be offended but I really had a laugh when I heard this on the news this morning.
For a country that was originally populated with the convicts of England to bann someone because of their arrest record is kind of ironic, isn't it.
Oh - and I am NOT a fan and wish that we could find a way to ban him from the U.S. A.

Getting back to the Dog, YES he should be banned! As well as any of the other "celebs" that are arrested for Drugs & Disorderly conduct! "Celebs" are the ones that our youngsters look up too, & follow their lead. So the celebs should set good examples! (Not to mention the Dog was already warned)

I can see your point. For me, it isn't him personally, but the industry in general who profit from the lyrics and bad messages their music sends our youth. No matter where you live, it isn't cool for your son to call his girlfriend a 'ho. Not cool to think packing a pistol is the way of life either. JMHO

Meanwhile , in another far flung corner of the Empire :
An Indian court issued arrest warrants for Hollywood actor Richard Gere and Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty on Thursday, saying their kiss at a public function "transgressed all limits of vulgarity," media reports said.
Judge Dinesh Gupta earlier viewed television footage of the event, which he called "highly sexually erotic," saying the pair violated India's strict public obscenity laws.
Does this make Gere a Shetty kisser ?

Well, y'see, all them Americans are Pilgrims, and Pilgrims are crazy for turkey, so I think the comment was a result of a tryptophan OD.

No. Those things against him aren't enough to warrant banning him. I find it really amusing that some other country is presumptuous enough to ban anyone due to their *character.* Let Australia clean up its own losers.

Yep.
This was the nation that barred that badasss gangsta mutha Charlie Chaplin in 1953 .
From the International Herald-Tribune, April 16, 1953 :
WASHINGTON: Charlie Chaplin has surrendered his United States re-entry permit. The Justice Department last year posted a stop order against Mr. Chaplin at all American ports after he had gone to Europe on a visit. Former Attorney General James P. McGranery questioned his right to return, asserting that if the actor did come back he would have to establish his entry rights "like any other alien." Mr. McGranery said his action was prompted by "public charges" associating Mr. Chaplin with Communism.
Yes, America looked upon The Little Tramp as a threat to it's security.:yh_rotfl

Uhh... when did being a celebrity and an entertainer mean that you had the right to be a sh*t stain on the world? If you're famous, and your actions are seen by the world over, we should be holding these people to a standard of responsibility that we'd hold any other person, if not higher. Ban the guy, I don't care, and if he could be banned from the US I'd be all for it. Along with 50 Cent, Eminem, and all the other "gangsta" mofos. I think it's sad and disgusting that our children look up to these morons and that these "entertainers" don't give a crap how they influence them.

um, NO celebrity is perfect so where do you draw the line??
even the cute little white girls admit to doing drugs, etc. why only focus on rappers??
And, personally I don't hold anyone, celebrity or not "to a standard of responsibility"....how anyone chooses to live their life is no concern to me.

You're right... no celebrity is perfect, so why are they idolized?
I don't just focus on rappers, that just happened to be the topic. By the way, when did race get into this?
They shouldn't be able to hide behind the mask of celebrity or entertainer and bear no consequences that the rest of us would if we were to behave in the same way. That's what I mean by "standard of responsibility."
How someone chooses to live their life is fine, just please don't influence our next generation to be a bunch of punks. And that, sunny104, is definitely a concern to me.
