Do you know who you are?

Post by Indian Princess »

It amazes me that as I get older I hear so many people, mostly men, but yes some women, say " I have to find myself" Isnt lifes day to day tramas and rewards the test. How can people not know who they are, I mean granted there are some people who are in relationships where their other halfs can screw with them , and they need to refocus, but how can someone go through life and reach 35 and up and not know?

Pink, yeah I am like that too, but did you ever notice some people just cant handle a female who knows who she is. I am not talking about the over opinionated person, but someone who doesnt ask for help?

two codependent people who rely on the other for their identity are never going to be able to grow....its like putting two c's together to make a whole..when ever one backs up and tries to complete themselves the other is left feeling abandoned and does evething they can to stop it . the best relationship is when two whole people come together and compliment eachother....are friends and value and champion the other reaching out to better themselves.....

and yes people can still be codependent way into their thirties and beyond...just like people can still be dependents all their lives....its all individual....

Are you serious IP?! Everything changes. People are not static. With life's changes come reassessments. At 25 I thought I was grown up and knew everything I needed to know. Then I hit 30 and thought "Hmm. I don't know sh*t." Now I'm 41 and I am still climbing uphill trying to figure out "what am I going to do with my life." Because I'm not the same person I was when I thought I knew. Life's experiences don't show me who I am because I already know that but they do show me who I need to be, and I try to adjust. I want to know who these people are who *don't* need to find themselves. Who have it all figured out already. They sound really boring to me.

I think I am a conglomerate of all those who have influenced my life. Oh yes there is some true Minks in there too, but I think as a mother, grandmother, sister, and daughter I am a lot of things.

Some days I am not "me" I am what others "need" and other days like today for instance at work, I am a strong support member of a bigger team.

To me what I am changes always depending on who is in need.

Hmmmmm I need to go drink more me thinks.

35 and not know who you are, wow. I think we always know who we are, and we are always changing. Sometimes in bog ways, sometimes in small ones. If we don't grow and learn all our life, it would be very boring.

I think we are always changing, and change is good. It's not that you do not know who you are, but, you are changing. Look at it that way.

Woman, you were talking about stroking it in public! I simply inquired if said llama's functions were at least cursory.
