Letter clears 'blackguard of the Titanic'.

"He was one of the great blackguards of pre-First World War British society: Sir Cosmo Duff Gordon, the man who not only was said to have bought his way off the sinking Titanic, but then stopped his half-empty lifeboat from returning to pick up drowning passengers.



However, the history books might have to be rewritten. A letter discovered in a London attic appears to exonerate the Old Etonian baronet and fencing champion of either cowardice or callousness."

I never get tired of hearing stuff related to the Titanic. Maybe because it marked the end of the age of romance, not sure. I feel terrible about all the pets that went down. Nobody ever talks about them. Seeing things they've brought back up always gives me a chill...wire eyeglasses....a woman's shoes...shaving brushes....mundane things that once were owned by an unfortunate human being. Seeing footage of those kinds of things on the sea floor is humbling as well.

I know I'm in the total minority here but I wish they'd bring it up. It's probably too late now anyway.

We went to Detroit, to the Titanic exibit, when you enter you are given a ticket a replaca of the original it tells who you are , what station in life ,family children etc. when you finish the exibit, you come to a wall and there are all the names of the survivors and deceased, I was a peasant, who wanted a free life for my wife and children, in sterage we all drowned. It really hits home.

The antique store where I went today, had a sort of plaque, that said

Whitestar shipping lines. I wanted that soooooooooooo bad.
