Got my day made today!

I took a cab up to the store and got one of my usual drivers. He seems extra happy every time he sees me and he's always turning around to look at me or talk to me while I'm in the back seat, even as he's driving.

So as I get out he turns around and says "What's your name?" I said "I'm Terri" and he takes my hand and says "Terri, I'm Jim- are you married??"

I've already dated one cab driver and that was enough.

I was caught off guard but I managed to squeak out that I was close to it but thank you kindly (I know! A lie! But what else was I going to say?) and he says "Oh. okay."

I noticed when I got back in he hadn't charged me waiting time which was really nice.

But that's not to say I wasn't flattered. Today isn't one of my better days. My clothes aren't working, my makeup's all wrong, hair is a mess. It's kind of funny he picked today to ask me that.

All cab drivers may not be the same Red. Was he good looking, & seem clean shaven, & on the ball? Anyway, good for you, see, opportunitity can strike especially when you're not looking! Imagine what would have happened if your clothes, makeup, & hair were all perfect! He probably would have asked you to marry him on the spot!

He was pretty much all those things, Cars, but you know when it's just not mutual...? Yeah...it wasn't mutual on my end. But I was kind!

Yesterday I had to go up to the hospital and I got the same guy. I didn't think much of it but instead of going back into Bullhead like they usually do, I found he'd arranged to be on call in the area I was in. Traded with another driver. I had a few other places I had to go and he was right there to take care of it. Pleased as punch to see me. Didn't even charge me waiting time. It's flattering but kind of awkward at the same time.

Why not go out for coffee or something and see what he's like when he's not behind the wheel? You never know. He seems like a nice guy.... if anything it could be fun.

I'm just not the least bit attracted to him to do that...there's no spark or any potential for one. I'm sure he is very nice or he seems so anyway. I'm very flattered by his interest in me but I wouldn't want to encourage him. Any time I've tried to be "just" friends with someone who had feelings for me, it would get awkward because they'd always be hoping for more and...it's just never worked that way for me.

Nearly dated a taxi driver once - he wore clogs and had a mullet - put me off rather!

It must be awkward for you. It is such a shame that being friends is not possible. I know how you feel, when it has happened to me i feel uncomfortable because you dont want anything you do or say, to give him the impression you like hime. You dont want to take advantage of his kindness. I would take it as serious compliment though. You must be extremely pretty to get that reaction.
