Bomb Scares

Post by chonsigirl »

Three days in a row, evacuation of the building due to bomb threats. Now, taking middle school kids over across the street to the high school is hard enough, but today-the police asked the teachers to go back into the building to do a bomb sweep. Some teachers did it! One teacher asked, "Do we go looking for things like in the movies?" She went back in too!

Now, we had very subtle notes to not tattle on anything. But there is a point where I say phooey on this stuff-when let back into the building, I went right to the union rep and told her what the teachers had been requested to do. And told her that some had gone back into the building under police request.

Now I shall wait and see, who tattles on me. Everyone was glad I did it, but if the axe falls, it will be on me. Not like they can fire me or anything, but I can get a horrible class assignment next year..........................:(

Good for you Chonsi reporting it, Magenta is right your job is to see that the children and staff are out of the building and as far away as possible.

What a terible thing to happen, how can anyone concentrate knowing that this is going on?

My son was blamed for a bomb scare for a school he didn't even go to by a neighbor boy that we hardly ever talked to...NOT a good memory.

I'm sorry that you had to go through that Chonsi, and I agree with Magenta (of course) and it isn't your job to do. I'm glad you and the children are safe and sound.:-4

What were you supposed to do with the bomb if ya found it? Now Jack Bauer would just slip a toothpick between the firing mechanism, Thats where I get my bomb deactivation skills from.

CG I would have done the exact same thing as you, what were they thinking putting anybody but trained professionals at risk... Idiots.

Chonsi I have no doubt in my mind, that if you made any decision, it would be the correct one. :-4

I'm glad you tattled Chronsi. The police were totally irresponsible in asking teachers to go in and look for bombs. :-5
