Take a look, this might make you feel better. This is the lucky woman that's married to Antonio Banderas. She's only 49.

Oh come on now. Feeling down about yourself shouldn't make you attack another woman so you can feel better. We all do it now and then... but it's really quite petty. I would think that putting someone down would only make me feel worse.

So let me get this right.

She is 49, rich and has a good looking husband.

And so we are supposed to mock her because she has not so perfect legs?

I'd not call them terrible, given the circumstances. When she was 21 she was hit by a car which "ran through the crosswalk", whatever that means. She took the initial impact on her hip and was thrown yards from the force of it. I'd imagine that explains some of the damage that's visible, early physical trauma can often become more apparent later on. I have a scar from my teens which becomes more and more visible as the years pass.

My point exactly. Women are just way too petty and catty, especially to other women. Feel better about yourselves by doing something else than making fun of others, for god's sake.

We all have things about ourselves that aren't so perfect... would we like them pointed out and mocked just because someone feels low and thinks it'd bring them up? Highschool is over girls! :yh_eyerol

It's very 'Rubens-esk' to me. (Is that how you spell that?) :)

I don't think she looks so bad,Ok the legs are not good but who is perfect in the real world without the help of a plastic surgeon. At the end of the day it is the inner person where the beauty realy lies. You could be stunning but a complete bitch.I prefer to be the girl next door type and a decent person.

Oh for god's sake, you can't be so overbearingly pompous to claim that you don't mock other people! MG has had thousands if not millions of dollars used toward plastic surgery... if she's not open for mockery, than who is? Reuse that self righteous attitude toward something that really matters.

Aw heck. It's getting a little too self-righteous in here.

*I don't think Antonio Banderas' wife will be at FG any time soon to read about her legs.

*It's a worldwide pasttime to talk about celebrities, both good and bad, and their families are celebrities by proxy. So they get talked about too.

*We all judge. It is human nature. We don't all speak every thought in our heads but we all do it and I'm not buying it when someone says they don't.

*So what if we rag on her appearance? If we ragged on each other's appearance that would be different. She can't hear us.

And on the flip side...

*Her legs are pretty sorry, true. But so is the presumption that anyone who married Antonio Banderas would have to be a stellar supermodel type just because he's considered attractive by a lot of women, and that he's shallow enough to want that.

She must be attractive to him. He married her.

Actually, it would make me feel worse - to know that that this is how a human being is judged; to realise that (particularly) women are objectified in this way.

We haven't come very far have we? How disappointing...

Hmmm... this from the woman that said that Hamster was an attention seeking loony. Hamster had her membership deleted shortly afterward. Interesting.

Uhh... apparently you missed my first post where I said that "we all do it at times" but I still think it's petty. I think it's petty when I catch myself doing it, as well. Which I posted earlier.

You're asking me to reuse my "self righteous attitude" when the best you can come up with is making fun of another woman to make yourself feel better? I'd rather be called self righteous than a catty b*tch. And how does self righteousness have anything to do with defending another human being from stupid, catty remarks?

If you need to downgrade others to feel better about yourself, self esteem is an issue you need to look at.

There's nothing wrong with teasing and joking, but using other people's downfalls or perceived imperfections to elevate yourself is pure junior high bullsh*t.

By the way, judge and you only set yourself up to be judged.

I just looked up George Formby, it's uncanny how many parallels there are between me and what I found. Gosh.

I bet they do too. We should compare sometime.

Hey I'm really not trying to be "overbearing" or take things too seriously. We all have a little laugh about others (and ourselves!!), and no harm is done.

It just really bothers me when putting others down is a woman's means to making herself feel better. I've always believed that women can be a woman's worst enemy, and we should all be a little kinder to each other. That's pretty much where I stand.

Hi all! :) Long time no chat. Someone just alerted me to the fact that an emotionally dysfunctional game-playing forumite has represented themselves as fabulicious, when they really aren't. Since my username on my site is "24HourNut," and in case some of you think this "24hournut" is me, Frank, since you may know me as that name ... it's not. They probably need a girlfriend, husband, wife, life, something - but they aren't going to get it by posing as me. They'll get pretty close, I'll give them that, since being super-fabulicious can rub off on those who get close enough (even by username, I guess), but in the end they will be dissatisfied. This is the kind of thing people do when they are unhappy with themselves and kept some of their maturity wiring from junior highschool. :-1

By the way, about this thread, here is my comment (you've all been dying for it, so what the heck, here it is):

It's natural to make fun of a sex symbol's now-ugly legs, stop being overdramatic goody goody heads making believe the initial poster did something "bad!" :p Bye!
