What should I do?

Post by Tater Tazz »

I would really like some input on a problem I have please.

I went to a nurologist last week and he took an xray of surgery I had in November, told me I needed to contact the surgeon right away and have him look at the screw on the surgery. He said, the surgery looks stable right now, but the screw popped out and he needs to look at in right away. I should hear back from my surgeon this week sometime. I really do not know what to do. It looks like once again this guy has to operate on me, because no-one else will touch me. I just really wanted to see what people think on here about this. I know I need to have it fixed, and hopefully this pain will go away. The disk under the surgery does not look good either. Well, just let me know what you think. Please be nice.

Is there no way that you could get corrective surgury from anyone else? Maybe a disclaimer over previous work? Once trust has gone, what is left?

How many is "No one"...No one as in 3 or 4, or no one as in 15-20 professional opinions?

Tazz, I still feel the same way I did before about this. I wouldn't let that guy touch me again ever. Who tells you no one will operate on you? I wouldn't take their word on it. You may have to work really hard to find a good doctor who will take you on, but I believe there's got to be one out there who can and will. They tell you no one wants to risk it, well I know for fact doctors have big egos and there are fabulous surgeons in existence who thrive on taking on patients others are too afraid to help. If you know this guy is a bad surgeon then offering yourself up to him again is incredibly dangerous. He could make it far worse than it is now. If he didn't know what he was doing the first time, I wouldn't give him another chance. Plus I remember what you told me about his conduct and that's a big red flag. I say stay far away from him and keep looking until you find a qualified surgeon. Even if you have to go out of state to do it.

Tater

Wouldn't this be a surgery for a Orthopedic - for bones & joints.?

Neurology is nerve & tissue.

I would search for a good Ortho surgeon.

Good luck

It would be about 10. I have been to yale new haven doctors and hartford doctors and my primary doctor told me I will probably have to go out of state to have anyone touch me.

Then go out of state and get an unbiased second opinion - you owe yourself that at the very least.

I hate reading stuff like this.

Once a doctor messes you up, and they try to hide when that happens so finding out seems rather rare, then it gets harder and harder to fix. I realise that surgeons save lives, I just hope I never need one.

I wish I had good advice to give. The only thing that makes sense is that you shouldn't expect the current doc to get any better. Why let him keep making it worse? They are supposed to practice on corpses. Don't let him turn you into one.
