Help reinstalling a PHPBB forum?

Post by crazygal »

My host always installed for me and yes I know there are instructions but I cannot for the life of me do it. Any tips from anyone who has installed a PHPBB forum would be greatly appreciated.

You'd need to tell us who your phpbb site is going to be hosted by, crazygal. The steps depend on whether you're on a Microsoft or Linux host, what database it supports, whether you're installing the old version 2 or the new version 3, whether you have administration rights of any sort (like can you get to your hosted server with a terminal window, for example - if it's Linux that would be a ssh connection usually).

If you want to keep any details private, switch to PMs.

Oh stuck there to be honest. I guess some of that info I can find though, thanks. I use CPanel, can do what I want, they are great hosts. My old one was an ass but I didn't have to install anything like the forum, arcade etc. I gave it up a few months back but really missing it now and some of my old members have been emailing asking if now I have had Jade I'll start it up again.
