Washer/Drier all in one

We got this machine which does both parts of the laundry chore. Same machine. It washes then it turns from a wet machine into a dry machine. Usually takes two goes at drying it completely but... wow!

It doesn't even need a proper air vent.

Is this just a UK thing? I've never seen it before. :-3

We don't have one of those, but I hear that they are supposed to be pretty good, but very liable to break down a lot, so I would watch out for that!

i had one they are great except they can wash twice as many clothes as they can dry ,if you dont know like i never knew ,you come home to a screwed up ball of paper mache type clothes rock hard that need washing :-5 :-5

Used to have one, yes they're handy when you haven't got a lot of space, I prefer my separate ones though, they do a better job.

Don't you hang washing out to dry?

jimbo, it's not the washer, it's you.

I haven't figured out the dry settings yet. It says "40" "60" and "100" which I assumed to be time periods but it goes for the same amount of time on each setting... i think. But it gets hotter if I turn the setting up. Of course for the number illiterate the other side of the drier dial has pictures. But one of the pictures is of a shirt on a clothes line with the sun beating down on it. In that case I don't plan on drying by machine at all so I've stayed well away from that one.

Are you serious? I swear you all are making this up. Does it automatically start drying them after it washes them or do you have to go set it to dry?

surely that would indicate a hot tumble for cottons

But it will only tumble efficiently on a half load, you need to take half the load out before the drying starts or only wash half a load in the first place.

Not heard of them before myself. I prefer to hang washing, smells a lot fresher and is softer but I would like a dryer to use in the winter. I had a washer/dryer once and it took forever for the clothes to dry though.

I've seen them in Ireland.

I always have trouble doing laundry over there....the settings all have numbers and some weird hieroglyphics on them that I can never figure out.....
