We go through our lives.....there are good times and my goodness there are bad ones also so I was thinking.....If you could rewrite your life......what bit would you want to change the most???

Wow good question, I think for me one thing I would have changed was the way I handled my first year of divorce I got pretty wrapped up in bitterness and failed to see what was happening to one of my daughters. I spose we can't go through life regretting too much from the past but that is my start of the re-write.

Ok.. i think its not mostly the things that have happened to me that i would change,,, but the way i have been or handled things. In certain circumstances,, if i changed something bad that happened to me,, then it would mean a lot of the good things may not have happened too!

Oh carol this is too hard a question for me:-3 U know im not serious very often:wah:

great thread - Carolly. I am going to ponder on this for a while :-4

Because certain events in our lives, cause other events to happen. So by removing a negative it could change the overall outcome and possibly cause us too loose the positive things that have happened.

nice thing is ya got your future to build on and work with and with luck it will involve some change or changes you made in regards to your past.

Another thing I would have changed, I would have not allowed others to influence me so much that I lost who I truly was. Being on my own again has made me realize this is who I am, this is who I always was, and I am not going to slip into who someone else wants me to be ever again.

This brings me to a bit of an interesting revelation I had the other day, I was walking through the mall with my youngest daughter, and out of one store came this huge young man, not obese huge just a big boy. He had the loudest uproarous laugh going on, and my first instinct was to think good lord how annoying then suddenly that thought was lost and I was thinking gosh he must be having fun and it's good he can laugh so heartily about it. And I walked on undisturbed.

I would have made sure I had that 2nd baby I really wanted but circumstances meant it wasn't wise to.

I wouldn't change much though or I wouldn't be where I am now which is a pretty good place for me.

I wouldn't change anything hard in my life. What a boring life if everything was easy. Without the downs I don't think we'd enjoy the ups as much. The only thing I'd change about my life would be how I've responded to the hard times.

I have certainly had good times and bad times, grief and sadness, joy and happiness, misfortune and luck, but I wouldn't change a thing because today I am the sum total of all those experiences and I like who and what I am today.

Huzzah,Lon.

Life is a learning lesson.

Learn from living.

If I could change anything it would be not being aware of that sooner..

what i would like to change in my life was not to of ben so nasty to my daughter shelley.I was so hard on her when she was little and even writing this down is making me cry.I was not a great mum and i just wish i was not like that. And i also wish i handled the death of my dad a little better because when i had the phone call to say that my dad died,i screamed and shelley was only 13 and it really did scare her.

Well I'm certainly not an expert on being a parent, but from a child's perspective I'm sure that your daughter understands what happened all those years ago, and bears no ill feelings toward you, after all being a mother isn't easy. I know I used to be angry with my parents, but now I have grown I understand why they did some of the things that they did or said towards me, be it bad or good, and I feel a better person for it.
