It seems that New Zealand has a "Fish & Chips" Shoppe on almost every street corner. My favorite is Grouper or Blue Cod. I bypass the shops near where I live, an travel 2 miles to go to an Award Winning place that seems to have a very different batter.

I have never found any place in the U.S. that has anything comparable.

On the BBC website, I read with interest that some scientists in Australia have discovered the smallest fish known to exist.

They've obviously never been to the Britannia Chippy on the Tamworth Road .

Only ¼ mile from my house. One portion there will feed two people (or one if you're greedy).

I asked them if they sold fishcakes a few weeks back. They said they did which was a great relief as it was my fish's birthday and I'd been everywhere for one.

I had to wait ages for my chips last week. The girl behind the counter apologised and said "Sorry about the wait".

I said "I don't mind how heavy they are"
