NEW YORK (CNN) -- Three suspects have been arrested in an alleged terror plot targeting New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport, a law enforcement official told CNN.

A former JFK Airport employee was among those arrested, the official said.

The FBI and the Joint Terrorist Task Force are to hold a news conference at 1 p.m. to provide details of the arrests and an indictment.

Authorities believe the plot was aimed at ground operations, not airplane flights, the official said.

The official described the suspects as "al Qaeda wannabes" and said one of the suspects is from the Caribbean region.

The case has been developing for a long time, the official said.

IMO i think if those people cause mass death & terror to a very busy place such as an airport then they should either spend the rest of their days behind bars or be killed you know Capital Punshiment

my point is are these men innocent until proven guilty

without wanting to sound nit picky my friend ,how do you know for sure they are guilty ,i mean where does the burden of proof end

like if they are of a militant religeon does that make them guilty?

how about if they just know other people that preach hate crimes does that prove their guilt ??

its a slippery slope red

i mean if it was your loved one that was in the wrong place and at the wrong time and maybe had a phone number of one of these other suspects on their cell phone is that enough evidence to exicute your loved one ?

innocent till proven guilty that is every humans right

but we all have the right not to be blown to piecec by cowardly murdering scum

its a fine balance my friend and i'm glad i dont have to make the decisions

i mean some of the people in orange suites in that god awfull place g bay are innocent they have been kept away from their loved ones for years and years without any proof what so ever ,they are someones son,brother father ,i would be deverstated if one was a family member of mine

not wanting to fight with any one just my thoughts

Oh no Jimbo, you are right. If they're innocent, of course nothing should happen to them. I was just thinking that if someone actually was attempting to blow up an airport or some other place where people would wrongfully die, that those responsible should be made to pay. But proof is vital. No proof, no case.

And I didn't think you were fighting. No worries.

And in June 2006, seven suspects were charged over an alleged plot to destroy the country's tallest building - the Sears Tower in Chicago. Sting sting sting.
