Americans Opportunity
OK----Here's the good stuff. I have been retired for 16 years and what ever success I had in my working career, I can't imagine happening anywhere else but in the USA. From early public scool education through high school and later as a Korean War Vet, university on the G.I. Bill. My first home purchased at 3.5% interest Cal Vet Loan. Being able to participate in a tax deductible Keogh Retirement Plan for the self employed, later IRA's and then 401K. The Capitalistic Free Enterprise System enabled me to earn an excellent living, raise and educate the kids. I am most appreciative of the opportunities that have been afforded me. My wish? Is to see those of you still working and raising a family to have the same opportunites that I have taken full advantage of. No, I have traveled extensively, and can't imagine having the same opportunities in another country.

You do much better at getting that feeling across than the others. It suits your face better as well. I mean that as a compliment. Extrapolate. Thanks for sharing that, tell us some more about it sometime.
Life ain't linear.

Unfortunately those were the days.
My in-laws have a few pensions - now retired social security etc.
Now companies buy out employees before they have the chance to retire, and receive a pension - or establish much in the 401k, and hire part time employees.
The days of the "Double Dippers" are gone.
