Reading Regular Playing Cards

I was just replying to the tarot thread.

I was wondering, those of you who read tarot, do you also read regular playing cards? If so, do you find it easier or better or less useful than tarot?

I've been playing with it off and on for years but I find it a bit difficult to replace the suits with the arcana and I get confused sometimes.

It's less useful as the regular playing cards are an incomplete deck.

Okay, spades are equivalent to tarot's swords, right? In tarot I am always throwing swords for myself!! ALWAYS. For two years I had nothing but swords and reversed cards. I put them away for a year before I tried again. It's really disheartening to get those stupid things.
