Cream Chipped Beef on Toast

Post by Lon »

Deja vu--------simple meal tonight. Cream Chipped beef on Toast, Spinach salad and glass of V8 juice. Brings back memories of mom cooking this for me when I was a kid and money was scarce. One of my favorites.

I think so, looks kinda like a corned beef hash, just with a different kind of sauce, creamy instead of tomato based???

Chipped beef is that thinly sliced beef - lunch meat.

you can make SOS with other meats as well. Its a white sauce with chuncks of meat over bread (toasted).

This is a old service (Army) meal S O S = **** on a shigle

I won't eat this S--t - my Dad love it

I love cream chipped beef! My parents used to make it with ground beef also. YUM!! My father's made it with bacon, as well.

A quick Google suggests that it's dried beef.
