Goodbye dear friends at the FG...Yes it is true..I too am leaving - :-1

But only to shut down my computer becuase we are in a tornado warning...Let s hope for the best..like a tree falling on my van so I can get a new one...TEE HEE..

Good night and hold on tight....I love a good thunderstorm but tornados scare the livin tar outta me... :-3

:yh_nailbiI know you all up in Iowa must be getting hammered by bad weather. It's 90degrees in KC with 90% humidity. Last week we broke record COLD temps! Whenever it's this hot & windy here it's vicious in Iowa or to our south. I had to get a surge protector last year after so many storms knocked out the power! Tornadoes are scary. I've only been in one, back in '79. I love storms too! The tornadoes are really chilling. They remind us how powerless we are. I hope you're safe and sound. Hang in there Iowa! We get the mean stuff Thursday & Friday.

Ummmm were you aware windspeeds of even a small tornado are 3times as great as a hurricane!!! An f5 twister produces winds in excess of 300mph. Florida couldn't handle that! BUT hurricanes do usually cover a much bigger area, even though they can be forecast weeks in advance. ANYWAY! Let's all think of mominiowa and hope all is well. Freaky weather in the heartland today. Check out the weather channel!

I didn't mean to imply you didn't care about her, I said "ANYWAY let's think about her" because I was pulling off the thread subject with the tornado/hurricane comparison. I know FL gets tornadoes, but rarely the mile wide bunker busters that roam the Great Plains! LC, if I were in Key West in hurricane season I'd be one paranoid Marxist! No doubt about it.

who takes care of the "bad" guys during hurricanes?

I hope we hear from her soon! I leave work in 2 minutes! Radar shows her state getting whupped by fiece storms and some tornadoes. Tornadoes are indescribable. The air gets still and so thick with humidity you struggle to take deep breaths. The sky, in my case, turned a strange green. The sound was more like a plane taking off to me. Unforgettable. Good Morning ALL! ~ It is still very green and crappy outside. I won't stay on long but wanted to check my mail - I am a internet JUNKIE - when it comes to my friends from the hospital..This is how we know we are all alive and well and getting through the treatments ok.. :-6

Last nights event went south, by 20 miles...Tornados caused no deaths and minimal damage.. - we were only hit with golf ball size hail and high winds..lots of rain..Not to much damage - just a down tree line across the street..We lost power for just about 30 minutes is all...But we are suppose to be under a watch all day - maybe the next 2 days...Who knows......

Thanks for worring about me..I just love all this attention..HA HA HA.. I feel sooooo important..LOL BUT I will tell you what- we had one in 1995 that cost us all the windows in our farm house, the grill and a new car - so they do scare me a lot, but I really think after looking at huricane pics and tsunamis..I can bare a tornado..

LC - I wouldn't trade the ocean life for my corn fields ever..OK maybe a week or 2!
