I always hang back and get a feel for people before I decide whether to talk to them or not :o , just like I do with people I meet in person. :-6

You feel them before you talk to them. That is considered very nice in this part of the country.

Maybe they have a valid reason for not replying to you (by valid, I mean like not knowing how to operate the PM function, or something like that.) Or maybe that's not the case, in which instance I would say don't waste your efforts on being offended by them- instead, put your efforts into making friends with the member(s) who took the time to respond to you. :)

I'm learning the importance of reaching out to members I normally don't communicate with. You know, we don't mean to be rude or anything but we tend to all fall in our own little groups of people. Like high school! Lord.

Anyway, I was thinking there are a lot of people here I enjoy and would like to get to know better. So I've been sending them PM's saying so. Some respond positively, some don't even respond. Their loss on the second one because I'm a really worthy friend to have; but hey, I know I'm not everyone's idea of a good time, right?

Just a couple days ago, I left a profile comment for a member and she wrote me to say thanks and we started PMing back and forth and found we had some cool things in common and wanted to get to know each other better. We've already exchanged our email and snail mail addresses. She's a really nice and fun person, definitely the kind of person I want to get to know.

So...there's a point in there somewhere, CG. :wah:

Why, as a matter of interest? Isn't the point of a forum like this to enable general conversation, reserving PMs for personal stuff[1]?
