Ha ha love it.

I got my dad a pair of socks for Grandad as he never wants anything so got something 'cheesy' :wah: . The dads Best Dad mugs as neither have ever been bought so much as a card and they are both mugs. :D Cards of course and a Daddy keyring for Karl for his new car keys, Tony Dad socks. Well it's the thought that counts. :D

Fathers Day makes me very uncomfortable. If I send love and accolades its phony. Its a lie. But then I feel guilty. I feel obligated to be a good son when in reality Im bitter and Im harboring old pain with a side of I dont care anymore. Its a conflict.

Not a dad. Drinking got in the way. But your dad did give you something. He taught you what not to do. Thats valuable !

I still have to get my step dad something. Got jack ***** for the kids Dad though. He never even bothered getting the kids a card to write out on Mother's Day, or my birthday. My friend went out and got loads of pressies from the kids for my birthday. So, childish as it may seem, I am getting him nothing.

I sympathise with you both and applaud you both. :yh_flower

I feel the same way about Mother's Day, Nomad. I don't send anything because she does not act like a mother so cannot be celebrated as a mother. I feel like you, Soberano. But I am a better mother than her, imo, because I refuse to follow in her footsteps. So many people fall into the same negative or abusive behaviour patterns as their parents, but we 3, and others like us, have broken free of that mould and have chosen different paths, refusing to repeat that cycle of abuse.

So I applaud you both and hope you both have a wonderful day. :yh_flower

Y'all shouldn't do this.

I'm so bad at remembering holidays, birthdays etc. Then we get a Fathers Day thread when it's not Fathers Day.

TODAY

is fathers day.

Ha.

I didn't miss it.

Happy real father's day to all the dads.
