Galbally has acupuncture

Post by Galbally »

Hello all, I am off to an Italian tea party in a minute, but I had acupuncture yesterday as since I gave up the cigarettes 6 months ago, I need to clear the stuff off my lungs, which I am finding difficult to do. Anyway, it was a very interesting experience, which I will do again next week, as an experiment into alternative therapies. What are people's experiences and opinions on acupuncture and any other specific alternative/Chinese treatments ect?

Oh I am not advocating acupuncture for giving up fags, just to help clear your lungs, well actually I am not sure if it actually does clear you lungs, but it is interesting to do.

No, we are not allowed to throw petrol bombs at the north since peace annoyingly broke out in 1994, also it gets quite sore on the arm standing in Monaghan and lobbing bottles of petrol into Armagh, very sore on the shoulder. I am a soccer man, not a rugby man, so no sport until the new season when Villa will be playing again, and I am off the guinness, so its just Italian cakes, and Chinese medicine for now.

Well, I don't know I guess the worst is when people don't go for medical treatment at all and just try to rely on alternatives, I have tried the western medicine for this one first, but its worth trying. How is the cigarette smoking going? It so hard to stop, I am glad I managed it, but I am never very far away from it I know that!

I've taken zyban AND I've taken acid and I attest to you, young lady, Zyban is nothing like acid.

Wonder what they'd be like together?

Hmmm.

Be right back.;)

I've used acupuncture before. It works quite well, especially when combined with Chinese herbs.

They have a whole different way of looking at the body and disease. It's all hot cold wet dry. I was never sure what regular herbs were appropriate. The herbs were more expensive than the acupuncture.

Congrats on quitting. I'm struggling with that myself still.

I am going to give up again soon as we think my dad's got emphaseyma, his dad had it too, so it's something I think we're prone to. I kinda scared me into wanting to do something about it.

Hey Pinks, I agree, but it is not easy, thats the truth, but even getting this far is pretty good, god thats terrible about the da, hope he doesn't have that, its pretty bad. You should try the patches, they do help a bit I found, though I only used them for the first week!

But I wanted this one to be about alternate therapies, not mixing anti-depressants with hallucinogenics, though that is quite alternative as well come to think about it. :sneaky:

I wonder if Mucinex would help with getting all that gunk out of your system? It might be worth trying. I use it mostly in the morningtimes since they're worst for me. It seems to break it up a little better without all the gaggin'

GREAT to see you pal and good luck :yh_hugs

Thanks AF, missed me eh? heheh :sneaky: . Yeah, I kinda liked the whole acupuncture experience, its quite interesting, but what it actually does remains to be seen. We don't have that Mucinex stuff in Europe, I don't think so, though we probably have it under a different name, I will look it up. Though I have been trying all those types of things, and antibiotics as well as i thought i was infected but nothing worked (hence the acupunture).

All I will say is that where I live in Ireland is a hotspot for those funny mushrooms, not that I advocate anything of that nature, it would not be professional. ;)

Yes, he talked a lot about that stuff, and to be honest I found it all a bit baffling, but certainly the acupuncture part was quite interesting, and pretty intense really, I am glad I experienced it, its worth checking out if you are curious about such things I think.
