Huge moth...

Post by nvalleyvee »

BTS and I have had this Giganto moth for the second year in a row. Last year we thought we had a bat in the house. It must be the season for this moth...It has a 5-6 inch wing span. It is a very muted brown and black color. We caught it and set it free outside.

Does anyone have any idea what this creature is called? I am really interested.

Isn't that a COOL MOTH.

We only get them on their migration north which is several thousand miles.

They say in Jamaica if they come in the house it is a curse...........forging go figure...2 years in a row in our house. We escorted this one out the door.

That moth is beautiful. I don't know what it's called but looks like a standard moth, only bigger. A quick web search ought to help you.

I was visited twice in one night by a largish moth with those same color patterns and it was a portent of death. Not saying yours is at all, though.

At least I did not think it was a BAT this year!!! I was freaked last year. The only reason I can think we had another one in the house this year was from last year...........must be a stopping place......LOL. Can't wait til next year in June.
