Cheating Spouses- would you rat?

Buttercup's honesty threads made me think about this.

I don't think I've seen it asked before.

If you knew for fact that your friend's spouse or lover was cheating on them, would you tell your friend or just butt out?

What if it wasn't a friend but a relative? Would that make it different?

Told her, she hasent spoke to me since. (messenger always gets shot, thats why people wont say) Do i miss her = yes. Do i regret telling her = No

What kind of friend would i be if i dident tell her? If she had known my partner was cheating & hadent told me i would have been furious with her. Thats how i judge these things with my friends, how would i feel, would i want to know?

My husband running around shagging everyone whilst my friends said nothing to me, jeez thats double the insult.

If your going to cheat i think you should at least have enough respect for your partner not to display or flaunt it.

Darn straight I'd rat. After all the cheater's the one in the wrong and I owe it to my friend or relative. Imagine how stupid I would feel if I found out my friends knew my Other was running around on me and they didn't tell me? I'd be without those friends real fast!

I FOUND MYSELF KNOWING THAT ONE OF MY MATES WIVES WAS CHEATING ON HIM ,I TOLD HER TO FINISH IT OR I WOULD TELL HIM ,so she finished it ,they are really happy now and have another child ,they will probably be together for life ,if i had told they would of broken up the other kid would of come from a broken home and the latest member of the family would not of been born ... was i right who knows ??? would i rat on anyone never

Friend or relative - no, I wouldn't tell - been there done that, telling doesn't work, as Buttercup stated, the messenger always gets shot.

Its a no win situation - and none of my business.

I worked with someone who continuously cheated on his wife, she knew about one occassion, he left her for a while but she took him back. he kept on cheating but as far as I knew she could have just been turning a blind eye to keep her family together. Did I feel it was my place to make her confront it? No. Did I feel guilty? Yes. Would I act differently now? Maybe - they have split up now are getting divorced - he's still an idiot and she is coping just fine without him but their children are the ones still suffering.

Much more likely if spouse, rather just than girl or boyfriend. So, that's a certain maybe.

Good question.

I would tell them in a heart beat.I would risk my friendship of course,but I know in the long run its for the best.He/she would have the right to know and I hope they would do the same for me.

Exactly how I would handle it, except I don't make threats unless I'm willing to follow through.

Although... I've seen several "victims" fully aware they're being cheated on and say nothing. Go figure.

Heck yeah, I would... 'cept for that one member on here who's cheating on her husband with his brother... oh, and that other with the fella' she works with... and that other one if ya' really wanna' get technical, but... it's not her fault that her divorce lawyer was an incompetent idiot... anyway, I'm talkin' too much, don't mind me... :p I'm SO gonna' get killed over this post...
