Is Love worth it?
:-4 Recently I came across the question is Love worth it?Here is a brief reply.
Love is most definitely worth it, however meeting the right person is the key to a successful loving relationship. People spend their lives juggling from one relationship to another while at the same time never really experiencing the true meaning of love. That feeling you get when perhaps for example someone says an insulting comment about your loved one and it makes you boil with fury. The hurt you feel is the same if not worse than it being said about yourself. Finding love does not come easy. It isn't something you can guarantee on finding. But for those fortunate enough as i have been will tell you that love is worth searching for.

Is Love worth it?
Agreed, Maccat.
I'd say (for me anyway) it's the only thing that makes life livable. :-6

Red Glitter i'm curious as to why you suggest that love is the ONLY thing that makes life liveable. Life is very precious and lots of things make it valuable.

Hi Maccat.
Well I agree there are a lot of things that make life enjoyable...hobbies, interests, passions, etc. But speaking only for myself, the thing I care most about is loving and being loved. When I'm in despair, love's the thing that keeps me afloat and when I'm happy, love is the thing that makes me rise even higher.
When I'm dead, it won't matter much what pictures I painted or what photos I snapped or what poems I wrote or if I was rich or poor. What will matter is if I made anyone feel like they made my world a better place for having been in it and if I did the same for them. I think Love is the ultimate glue in life. In all its forms; romantic love, the love borne of gratitude, the love one has for family and friends and the love that is also known as compassion for others. For me, love is it. :-6

Without love, what is a hobby? It is just something to spin the wheels of time on, until another activity comes along. Love is more then glue, it is your essence. Like breathing.

It must be the love going round...........................
Jimbo,
with bits of love
glued together tightly,
shaken and not stirred, but savored,
is loved

I believe that of all the human emotions, love, pure love, is the one that transcends all of time, and all dimensions. Indeed, I think it's the force that runs the universe.
Is Love worth it?
You have to be a part of, "when will I see you again", it is what makes us tick. There is always some lonely fool who thinks that it is secondary to career, or figuring out who they are. Tell them to keep that poison away from you. It doesn't have to be physical, doesn't have to be romantic, just needs to be an attraction more substantial than a sideways glance. Could be a crush, those are always great.
It Might be someone you just like to talk with. It has to be someone you could spend a lazy Sunday afternoon sharing a hammock with. Maybe you know just enough or ignore just enough to make that thought a little more concrete than it should be. Thats okay, it's how it works. Gives you something to warm you up on the cold days. Maybe someone who through their interaction with you makes you want to be a better person, or to take better care of yourself. Maybe it's a dozen different people who all meld into one big chunk of lovely goodness. A man needs a maid. Don't get hostile, theres a deeper meaning to that song from Neil Young than him just wanting someone to make his bed and cook his supper. When will I see you again.
Thats the meat of it right there. You've had that person. The one you make time for, you get up early or stay out too late to see again. The one you say a little prayer for hoping they will still be there tomorrow for you to see again. If you don't have one, please get to looking. It's kind of like a scavenger hunt, finding that easter egg with the two quarters in it instead of some melted marsh mellow goo in the shape of a baby duck. Peeps suck. You can buy a bouncy ball with two quarters.
Sometimes, that person is so far away they may as well live on Jupiter, other times they live next door. They work at your favorite watering hole. All the time, you want to be a part of it. It is the person you say good night to, and not good bye. You talk about them a little too much on days when you feel good. When you hear the Isley Brothers singing, "It's Your Thang", you wonder who they sock it too. I had a crush on a girl in the third grade, that was 22 years ago, she wore charm bracelets, plastic ones. They had little charms of tennis rackets, cars, flowers. Guess what, I still got it, the crush, it is orange flavored. Don't even know what she looks like now, doesn't matter. She introduced me to Led Zeppelin, in the form of a tribute album with Sheryl Crow singing Dyer Maker.
I bought the boxed set. I never told her I had it, the crush that is, if I ever see her again, maybe on the twentieth reunion, which is eight years away, I'll tell her. When I listen to Springsteen sing "Glory Days" and he talks about the girl that turned all the boys heads, I think about her.
A man needs a maid. Someone to live close by. Help out a little bit when he needs it.
Love comes in many forms.
