We shall pray for you, maccat, though with little confidence in the outcome.

Nothing personal, it's just that the site has had flurries in the past triggered by a lack of transatlantic recognition where black humour's concerned.
I have a friend who, while we were schoolmates, wrote to the local girls' school announcing the death of one of their pupils while she was off with chickenpox and signing it with her father's name. You wouldn't believe the trouble he was in after it got read out in morning assembly. Demented was one of the more restrained terms.
Yes, the daft winged ornament is me, it was taken at a local amateur dramatics performance three years ago.

I took it for a joke at first and a pretty funny/shrewd one too but I wasn't totally positive so hung back before I said the wrong thing. Now that I know it is in fact a joke, it's funnier yet.
Maccat, I don't think anybody was insulting you. Words don't always translate well on here and can come off as harsh when they're not supposed to be. This happens with me all the time.
It was a funny joke.
Somebody want to tell me what a scouser is??

I'm Refering To Chookies Comments. A scouser is a nickname we are proud of, meaning a liverpudlian.

By the way Red Glitter the word scouser comes from the word scouse meaning a stew. During the war when money and food was in short supply Liverpool people would make a meal from different vegetables and meat anything they could aquire and basically boil it all up. A cheap way to feed a family during the difficult war years. So no it isn't a derogatory term.

This seems to have been left hanging. No, it's not derogatory, it's denotes a place of origin like Okie or Hoosier does.
