National Alert Registry

Post by maccat »

I have just stumbled across the national alert registry for the usa. How lucky you are in having such a valueable tool in protecting the young and vulnerable in this way. I wish GB were brave enough to introduce a similar method over here. However i can't help wondering whether the country has problems with lynch mobs. Yes these evil predetors deserve the worst but still we can't allow the public to give out their own style of punishment.

Not lynch mobs... but I often wonder how these registered offenders walk out of their homes, and lead normal lives. I have at least 50 registered sex offenders living in a square mile radius of my own apartment. Our town certainly does seem to attract them. It is an unforgivable offense that once committed, ruins the offenders life forever.

With the exception of a few instances, I don't think they deserve to live normal lives.
