I'm an investor! I sincerely hope that most members of this forum are, as well. If you aren't, you should be. What's on your mind?

I find it interesting that in the almost three years I have participated on FG, there has been little or no posts regarding $$$$ or finance in general, which rightly or wrongly has brought me to the conclusion that the vast majority of FG members do not invest--------------I hope I am wrong. Same could be said for savings as well, which as you know is different than investing.

I believe it would be a great idea to post a few financial threads and create a financial forum... rather than *cough* a smut forum as has been recently requested. :wah:

I've got a wee bit here & there, i should imagine its not really discussed here as people dont tend to talk about it in general. Like i dont mind saying i've a bit here & there but that's as far as i would go on an online forum. I would discuss that with family only.

A wise investor can afford more smut.

I'm still here, Lon, and still invested. Right now my beloved is in complete control of the retirement investments while I work on the new career. She seems to have a real knack for it.

You miss the point buttercup--------There is much that could be discussed re:finance and investing that does not involve disclosing personal financial data, besides, look at some of the most intimate things in thier lives that some posters choose to bring up.

Very little but I do have a small investment into some stocks via my father. Wish I knew more to share intelligent conversation with.

Hi Lon

I am amazed at some of the intimate things shared here, its not really my thing to share that information either. I do see where you are going with the finance now & apologize for 'jumping the gun' so to speak. Why dont you throw a few finance topics up & see what response you get now that you know there are some of us here who do invest.

I think the hardest part is building a good financial foundation before investing. Budgeting yourself to build an emergency fund, setting up plan & goals, researching the best funds/stocks to invest in, etc.

I think it's a huge advantage to start as early as possible, so that if you make a mistake, it doesn't devastate the retirement nest egg.
