What are yours?

If you're okay with saying, that is.

I have a hillbilly skinhead cousin who spent some years in prison for a racial assault.

My family is riddled with alcoholics.

I was engaged to an ex-felon.

I have some racist and homophobic people in my family.

I'm bipolar.

Not all those are shameful or even embarrassing but some people might still consider them skeletons.

You can be very persuasive Red Glitter but what the heck, following the breakdown of my parents marriage at the age of 12 i got mixed up with a bad crowd. Needless to say i got in trouble with the law for several petty crimes. I found myself in Youth custody aged 14. The shock to my system had a lifelong affect on me, i don't think i was ever the same again after my incarceration. All i was looking for at the time was love and understanding but instead found a prison cell. No doubt this admision will predudice a lot of FG members against talking to me . Still one thing i'm proud of today is my honesty.

^^^I hope that isn't true, I for one memeber would NOT stop speaking to you because of that, instead admire you to admit it and that you've grown from that horrible experience... thanks for sharing with us.:-4

As for me and my skeletons....oh we like the closet WAYYYYYY Tooo MUCH!!

but I will take out a few to share:

Dad was an alcholic and grew up with mental/verbal abuse (was told I was worthless, stupid, hopeless, helpless.....etc.)

Married an abusive drunk redneck

Trusted a boyfriend to take out a LARGE loan, just to have him leave me high and dry with it....

Maccat - as far as I am concerned - the past is the past and I for one have no right to stand in judgement of anyone. I'm the sort of person who will chat to everybody;) :D

I'm an arsonist - when I was about eight I went into a field behind my house and deliberately set fire to a stack of bamboo 40' long X 30' X 15' high. It went up like a bomb!

I would not call any of these confessions skeletons.None of you did anything bad.You are not responsible for your families actions.Yes we all have little secrets but that does not mean we are bad, just we made a few mistakes a we grew and learned. An eight year old setting fire to a field is hardly bad.No one was hurt and being a child, well kids often do daft things.

If any FG member has a real skeleton, then they will keep it to themselves, and who can blame them.

I don't have any real ones, just family things like the rest of you.

i'm a total failure with women

Whatever your past with women, I think you are far from a failure. Look at Suzy, and rethink that answer dear Jimbo.

I've been in county jail in 5 or 6 different counties. I absolutely love to fight and drink. Sometimes not in that order.

I at one time had around 120k worth of various internet stock; Google, Amazon, and Yahoo mainly. I cashed that in to send a woman to rehab. I loved her, and if she showed up in person on my back porch I would let her in without a moments hesitation. I left the state after I paid for the rehab; not a dime to my name. I saw a picture of her recently (this was 6 almost 7 years ago) and she looked really good; that look in her eye was almost tame. I don't even want to think what that stock would be worth now; but I doubt it would be worth the clean look of her. I made the right decision. Most people would call me a fool though.

I've never been unfaithful to anyone I was in a relationship with, but I have been the other man six times. One was married, three are married now to the man I was the other too, and two are still dating the same person.

Thats about all you are going to get from me, but I have no secrets. Just some things I haven't told yet.
Life ain't linear.
