Are my posts confusing?

Post by buttercup »

Ive noticed many times over the years that i have to continually explain what i mean when i post things, now there could be many reasons for this & i'd like to find out just what it is so i can rectify it.

Am i just thick & dont explain things properly?

Do people just see what they want to see?

Do i pose questions that have many variables?

Should i highlight important words?

I don't think I have a problem with your posts unless I misunderstood more than just the one earlier today. I'm not aware of anything anyway. Sometimes I'm not certain about the "tone of voice" you're using or how you mean something to come across but that happens with everyone when you can't talk to them.

The reason is not complicated. If a number of people ask for an explaination of what you say or write, then you obviously have not communicated your thoughts clearly and concisely enough. People can't can't be expected to read your mind as to what you really mean, further, you should not be insulted or upset if people ask for further clarification. Take it as a positve that they are interested enough to ask.

Thank you Lon, i would like to be able to communicate clearer & concisely, i'm not upset or insulted but i do find it a bit frustrating. Do you have any suggestions that would help. If i have to sit & think deeply before i post incase anyone picks me up wrong it kinda takes the fun out of posting.

It shouldn't take the fun out of your posting or require deep thought. Just put yourself in the position of the person that reads your post as you type it.

I don't think you should have to think too deeply before posting but this is just like RL friends. There are some you can't get enough of, some you steer clear of and some 'friends' you can only take in doses. I say don't worry about it til you get a PM from someone in tears over something you said. Til then I wouldn't worry about it. Just my opinion :)

dont worry AF

AF i have always found your posts honest ,funny and interesting :-6
