Supporting Members: What do you get?

Post by mikeinie »

I see that there are some members described as ‘Supporting Members’, I am assuming that this means that you are paying some kind of membership fee to the Forum. If so, what do you get for you membership vs just logging as a non supporting member?

How much are you paying?

That advantages of a supporting membership subscription are summarised on http://www.forumgarden.com/forums/payments.php

Supporting Membership rates currently run between $12.50 and $20 a year, depending on how far into the future you subscribe.

The politeness of Supporting Members is moderated far more rigorously than that of mere fly-by-night ne'er do wells like yourself, so be warned.

I paid for a year. I get to have a store up to 4,000 PMs rather than the regular 10. That doesn't sound like a big deal at first but once you start getting to know people and they start PMing you regularly, it makes a big difference.

I get to have my own tag line (mine says "For the Real.")

My own signature.

My own avatar.

My name in green as a supporting member so everyone knows I did it. :wah:

The satisfaction of knowing I'm helping out a website I really enjoy and that benefits me.

I think paying is worth it although if you choose to stay a free member, no one is going to hassle you about it.
