Grace, i. e. the disposition to kindness and compassion

"God, give us grace to accept with serenity the things that cannot be changed, courage to change the things that can be changed, and the wisdom to distinguish one from the other"

~Reinhold Niebuhr

Ah; sweet and smiling grace. If grace were a living thing it most surely would be a child; full of smiles and yellow tinted brightness. Arms outstretched towards the sun and sky waving a simple stick as if it were some grand scepter used to ward away pecking, and cowardly birds. Grace would have to be a little girl. Imagine for a minute if grace were to manifest itself as a child; her eyes would have to be so blue they would be like looking into great big pools of dew filled innocence. You would not be able to look into them both at the same time; they would draw your eyes from one to the other and back again, and again, one more time again. The child sized chin would remind you of another's face; you would not be able to remember who it reminded you of; just that it was familiar. You would fumble full of the lack of something; grace maybe, would remind you of an old friend.

I would like to meet grace one day; seems that the lack of awkwardness and me are very far apart. Graceful is not an adjective smoothly applied to the way I move about my life. It is more of a stop, start, back-up, idle, trip and fall kind of thing. I get where I am going eventually; just tend to lose a hub cap or a side view mirror along the way.

I want to stumble across grace, i. e. the disposition to kindness and compassion; that is what I want to trip over one day. I would wager that if grace were a child; she would giggle at my clumsiness and call me by a name different than my own.

Sometimes spirits saturate us to the point of falling down under their fermented weight. I imagine that red tinged Brandy has brought about grace into the world for others to revel in her elegance. Brandy doesn't rile you up like some spirits tend to do.

I sometimes ponder the sound of grace; is it like a rainbow of colors? I know grace has siblings that will grow into words just as precious and loved. The thought of grace makes me smile just thinking on those metaphorical, innocent, big as the sky, blue eyes. Allusions are sometimes the sweetest things.

Gracie - In full splendor; there is no way I would make those eyes smaller.

I'm knocking somebody up before the year is over; with their permission and gratitude of course. I might write a more personal follow up to this if anyone else comments. I'll throw some clues out to this story. That little Angels name is Gracie; her mother's name is Brandi, her little brothers name is Riley. All thre names are mentioned in the story, Grae i. e. was easy enough, as was Brandi; did you find Riley?

Uh... what? Did the knocking somebody up line throw you off? I sometimes say **** just to see if folks are paying attention. That line would be better explained in a story, that line is probably going to be a story, and knocking someone up won't be in it anywhere. Got to take what I say with a pound of salt sometimes.

I think I'll write about Don Quixote tonite though; eventually.

I was hoping you would change that to something a little more romantic I guess. It's the girl in me.

A little more romantic ain't in me right now dear friend. I have visions of too young Jolenes who have never heard of either Ishmael or Dante Alighieri running through my head at the moment.

Ok, cool. Just trying to be considerate there.

Let me know when you need some more story ideas. I've been forming a few.

I still owe Almostwent one. I got too many in my head as it is; having a hard time distinguishing between them all at the moment.
