What Makes a man Handsome?

What is it about a man that makes him Handsome? Is it a well-developed/muscular physique, height, a hairy body, piercing eyes, a majestic gait, generosity, charming smile, intelligence etc? Opinions please

That is an interesting question because what makes a man handsome from afar at first glance is different than what makes a man handsome once you get to know him.

Ok go with the superficial handsome.... First impressions of course here, An nicely kept body definately. Eyes that smile indeed. Hands OMG I am a sucker for hands, well kept, nice looking hands and I am so there.

As for handsome beneath the exterior, oooo a man who loves life, can laugh, can love, likes to touch, likes to be touched, confidence, kindness, intellegence. It's an over all package really.

my son is 25 years old, my youngest. i am not amused with his "bald head" tattos and huge muscles at all. i call him muscle HEAD. i don't know why he marked his body to begin with, who broke him in on that, needs a swift kick. its in style, its a generational quirk, to look like this. its in the EYE of the beholder, but to have altered yourself that way, is not beauty to me, it is egotistical.

Handsome, is a reserved clean healthy man (well groomed) and not with a muscle shirt or too much skin showing. head & arms...you can see it in the skin, a healthy glow. My husband is a handsome guy who is from a really good upbringing, good looks run in his family. my father always said, hey handsome how are you doing.

Ah yes not a huge cave man beard, no a nice tidy stache and goatee hmmmmm delicious hehehe That I think catch's my eye immediately most often.

After thinking about this some more, I have to add a little story:

At my old bar, I had a new customer. He began coming to my place because the new owner was a buddy of his. His name is Brian. When I first saw Brian, I had no opinion of him, neither handsome or ugly, just sort of, nondescript. Plain. He hung out pretty often and we began to talk and quickly became friends. The more I was around him, and the friendlier we got, the more appealing he became. There was never anything physical between us, but I found myself attracted to him because he was such a wonderful person. I see him very infrequently now, but he is the same person and very good-looking to me now.

Funny, the best-looking guy in the world can turn ugly to my eyes when I realize what a putz he is.

Just an observation....

Most men are just average when I meet them - I don't think handsome or ugly. If after I get to know him and want to jump his bones every time I see him - he is handsome. Come on ladies - you know lusty feelings can make the average guy most appealing.

Hmmmm...I think the women already said it ~ the personality brings out specific features that are handsome.

These days I'm partial to large sparkly blue-green eyes, lines of character in a strong face, broad shoulders and long lean legs. He's a yummy man, no doubt about it...and he grows on me more every day.

I love being in love.

I can't believe there are no takers on the lusty feelings I mentioned. What makes you have lusty feelings? It's the character, personality, humor , etc of the man. He can have great looks and be a total vacuum. Are we, as women, not going to acknowledge what makes a man truly handsome and sexy? It is absolutely how we feel about him and how we want him.

I worked with a lot of extremely good looking men. Never thought about them sexually at all. I like "interesting" looking men with character and vitality. There definately has to be lust. If there isn't lust at the beginning, at least, I don't know how it would ever survive. I've definately experienced men becoming more attractive and sexy as I got to know them, and the reverse. The main common ingredient: Confidence. I love confident men. With chisled features and strong hands.

It is the whole package. I don't like extremely handsome men, or body builder types. I think we women are attacked to the whole person in harmony with the man himself.

Hurmor is a must, all his teeth, can be bald, can be a bit over weight, but must be comfortable in his own skin. This reflects to us confidence, and we love that. Sensitive, kind, generous, able to talk to others with some ease. Just a man who makes us feel like the beautiful women we are.

Did you ever meet a guy that was like drop dead gorgeous, made you drool, and then he had to ruin that thought by talking? I hate arrogance, love confidence. Big difference between the two. A sense of humor is definately a must.

Agreed. But....but....I thought I had already agreed with my post? And that's the best I can do, baby.

hmmm..... with my fiance (!) i was too scared to look at him to start with but when i did i didnt really fancy him that much :O now tho....... i think he is the sexiest man on the planet and i wonder what on earth was wrong with me! i blame it on my age - ive grown up and matured now!!!

it was definitely his personality that won me over and made me fall in love with him

Do you mean when your first see the object of our lust, or our partners we have currently.

First view for me, lusting would be a result of pure looks. Ack.

eyes and lips are very attractive but i dont know they are what makes a man handsome......

i still think true handsomeness (!) comes from their personalities....

however a nice 'thang' (!) goes a long way too!

My wife laughs a lot - usually at my attempts to converse in her native language.

She was born and raised in Thailand and although I lived there for some years my ability to speak Thai is at best slow and I often use incorrect grammar which sends her into fits of giggling.

Amusement was also to the fore when we met.

I was playing in a tennis tournament and she deftly caught a wayward forehand drive of mine before it nearly decapitated her!

After the match was over I went over to where she was sitting and apologised for nearly beheading her.

She graceously accepted my apology and an offer to make amends by buying her dinner a few days later.

When we met for the dinner date she had the nerve to admit that she was rooting for my opponent in the tennis match!

I had the last laugh however because I won!!!

I see I have the same answers as several in here. Personality probably ranks the highest. They have to make me laugh and be sociable, because I'm the shy one, so he'll have to make the first move in conversation. He's gotta be supportive and caring. Looks havn't meant that much to me in the past (ask my sister) and I got lucky finding a good man who has the above characteristics and is handsome (again my opinion:))
