Your son or daughter turned up with a partner you hardly knew & announced they got married yesterday?

How would you react?

I would probably burst into tears, the fact that they didn't want me there would be awful but to not even tell me :-1 I would then try to make the most of it and welcome my new son to the family.

I would be devasted - I probably would congratulate them. Then go on to hate new daughter-in-law/son-in-law :wah: But carry on being nice for the relationship with my son/daughter :-4

Make a doll of him/her and stick pins in it!!:D

It might depend on how old my son or daughter was and why I wasn't invited. If it was just a Vegas or JP wedding I would be less upset. I'd try to roll with it and remember that they*are* married instead of that they *got* married.

It's their life, their decision. I don't have any expectations other than hoping they turn out to be good people. :-6

Incredibly upset but I'd get over it.

How I'd treat him would depend on why it turned out that way and what he was like with her.

At the end of the day, I'd be OK with anybody who treats her well and makes her happy.
