Does anyone have experience with this ?
Increase the horsepower and throttle response of your vehicle's engine with a K&N Typhoon intake system! K&N has been at the forefront of the performance industry for over three decades, producing the most widely-used filters in the professional motorsports industry. All K&N products are tested by independent labs to verify the increases in power and performance they provide.
Designed to replace the air box, filter, and inlet tract in compact sports cars, aluminum Typhoon intakes improve performance by increasing airflow to your engine. Three types are available:
short-ram intakes (pulls air from inside the engine compartment);
cold-air intakes (pulls air from outside the engine compartment);
complete cold-air intake systems (can be changed from cold air to short ram use for the winter months).

Depends on who you ask.
My brother put one on his Mustang a few months ago. Instant difference. You could feel the extra horses.

The poolhall's a great equalizer. In the poolhall, nobody cares how old you are, how young you are, what color your skin is or how much money you've got in your pocket... It's about how you move. I remember this kid once who could move around a pool table like nobody had ever seen. Hour after hour, rack after rack, his shots just went in. The cue was part of his arm and the balls had eyes. And the thing that made him so good was... He thought he could never miss. I know, 'cause that kid was me.

Ok. Was it a bear for him to install ? The instructions looked "involved"
And wouldnt you have to adjust the fuel/air ratio ?

Does it save on gas? And why only small compact spots cars?
What's the point, to give you more horsepower? If so, Cool. :guitarist

They can work well if you know what you're doing.
If you just slap one on then the engine will run weak, power will be down and you'll burn holes in you pistons.
If you run carbs then you need to re-jet them to run richer - probably on a dyno unless you have the feel.
If it's injected then you need to re-map. On a bike you'd use a Power Commander between the ECU and the injectors but I've no experience with cars - you'd probably have to re-chip it.
Basically, you're reducing the inlet resistance so getting more air into the engine. To make any benefit you need to match that with more petrol.

I had a friend with a similar problem. A couple of rounds with the plastic surgeon straightened him out just fine.
