The Day Has Finally Come!!!!!

Tomorrow Jim and I are leaving the house at 7am to go to Charring Cross Hospital in London to see a leading neurosurgeon about my back.

I am very nervous, due to all the previous mishaps with hospital, I find just thinking about going an absolute nightmare. It is such a big hospital 15 floors if I remember correctly!

The Surgeon is the only one in this country that has successfully unravelled scar tissue from the back and the root nerves, as much as I hate hospital, I am hoping that he feels that he will be able to operate on mine.

Wish me luck everyone as I really will need it, I am already having blimmin panic attacks just thinking about going, I feel sorry for Jim that has got to try and get me out the door and to London tomorrow

I will let you all know tomorrow how it goes

Aww you'll be ok Suze. I went to Charing Cross once, not to the Hospital, the Police station....err! Not voluntarily either..

I'm back and I am sorry to say that it wasn't a great success

Basically there is too much scar tissue for an operation to be done, even if another disc ruptured they would be very hesitant to perform more surgery. He basically told me that I should stop looking for treatment and accept that this is how things are for me. He seemed a very nice man even if he is a Dr :rolleyes: he said that all the medication which I am on is correct and to get out and enjoy life

So only one more appointment left for my stomach that's at the end of the month, lets hope this one will be a little more positive :-6

i have dr's seeing chantelle tomorrow ,my son has busted up his foot ,sue's son has broken and split open his little toe

Suzy sorry to hear this news. But never give up hope who knows what magic medicine may come up with in a year or 2 for scar tissue, never say never. Now just do what he said enjoy life exercise as much as you can to strenghten your back and who knows.:-4

I'm sorry Suzy, but as was mentioned, they're coming up with new stuff and procedures all the time. I like the "get out and enjoy life" part but I wouldn't totally give up. My doctors told me I'd be in a wheelchair before 30. I'm 41 and I walk just fine. Doctors, ya know?
