Sorry to hear about that, Arnold and glad your bank is making good your loss.

There are so many different scams around. How did they get your details? One favorite way used to be by picking up discarded c/card slips from ATMs or stores but nowdays they usually only print out the last 4 numbers to render that particular method useless.

It would be ironic if he used my money to win loads of money for me to find on my bank statement suddenly one morning :wah:Now that that would be ironic, i wonder how you'd stand? would you be able to keep it?

I had this happen last year in Camden, they cloned my credit card even though it had been rejected when I tried to pay with it (I had expected it to be rejected).

Within a few days the bank was calling me due to someone attempting to buy things I would normally buy on the card.

It's funny what makes them suspicious, anyway, it was easy for them to trace where I had last been with the card myself as I rarely used it.

Never heard anything else, but I know fraud squad were paying a visit to that shop and the London Underground Station that I had just bought a ticket from.

Capt. Buzzard ....It happened while I was in England . Only found out when I got back.

The perpetrator made the transactions in different foreign currencies It wasnt card cloning .The curious thing is I thought you needed the last 3 digits on the signature strip on the reverse of the card to use it on the net which is why my suspicions lie with the shop.
