The Day After Tommorow

Post by Musiclover89 »

I think The Day After Tommorow is a great Film cause it focous's on real issuses and brings them to life to make people aware of whats going to Happen i think its well directed but i prefer The Perfect Storm for Weather Films
"Why not just tell people I'm an alien from Mars. Tell them I eat live chickens and do a voodoo dance at midnight. They'll believe anything you say, because you're a reporter. But if I, Michael Jackson, were to say, 'I'm an alien from Mars and I eat live chickens and do a voodoo dance at midnight', people would say, 'Oh, man, that Michael Jackson is nuts. He's cracked up. You can't believe a damn word that comes out of his mouth.' " Michael Jackson

Darren,

The "Perfect Storm" is one of my favorite films. I just loved all the characters. The ending was so upsetting. Imagine, escaping out of a sinking boat only to find that there is no one waiting or looking for you when you surface?

I really didn't like the Day after Tomorrow. I think they focussed far too much on the special effects and not enough on the story line (The recent Transformers Movie suffers the same problem) It's as if they worked out how to do all the effects so they look great and then hashed a story around the effects, rather than making effects to enhance the film which is the way it should be IMO. .

the Day After Tomorrow held my attention until the line 'We have reached a critical de-salination point' was taken seriously!!!

and then the bit in the frozen New York when the wolves that escaped just knew when to give the whole of NY a miss and go to the frozen in ship to get to the people there - I pizzed myself laughing then!

But the special effects were really good!!

The Day After Tomorrow is fiction. The Earth has gone through countless freezes and massive amounts of heat. It is still around and will be long after we are all gone. To think that we can destroy the Earth is hubris at it's best.

The Perfect Storm on the other hand is a true account.
