Buttercup - I don't know of anyone who locks their kids in the cupboard..... BUT

My friend's 3 year old twins shove each other in the cupboard under the stairs all the time!

I think not only should some kids receive a damn good thrashing before being locked up in cupboards but they should have steel bars on them too.

I knew someone that did this, she used to shut her lad in the cupboard then tie it with string so he couldn't get out, I told her that I thought it ws out of order and I called social services, then I told her that it was me that called them.

You should try living next to the people I do. The 8 year old daughter is like something out of the film 'The Excorsist', she occasionally goes into fits of screams followed by constant banging on her bedroom door after mummy has locked her in...I would never go running to social services and interfeering!

I used to be locked in the cupboard under the stairs when I was a kid......have awful memories of a horrible punishment....can't even remember what I did wrong....couldn't have been much...I was too frightened to be a naughty child.

Oooh you should be so lucky!

My dad used to thrash me with an iron bar if I forgot to make his bed and then lock me up for the night in the local zoo with the lions, think yourself lucky my girl!

But my dad was always fair.

If anything ever happened to that child could you live with your conscience??

Merely because her mother locked her in her bedroom?...lol

If anyone was liable to be harmed I should think it would be more likely be mum due to stress, not the daughter.

What a strange society we live in

Why lock them in a cupboard? A good beating will generally do the trick.:wah:

I did once turf a whole birthday party of unbelievable ten year old girls out into the backyard in the rain, and shut myself in a cupboard with a glass of gin....
