A soccer manager`s lot is not a happy one!

Post by john8pies »

Now let me make one thing clear first of all. I have no feelings of sympathy towards Martin O`Neill (if you take the pay, you have to do the job satisfactorily) and anyway I can`t stand his voice BUT I just want to know how one minute he can be being mooted as the next manager of Man Utd or even Scotland and then, when Celtic concede 2 goals at the very end, he is suddenly being derided as "unable even to win a 2-horse race!" and there is talk of his being`obliged` to resign or even sacked!

For goodness sake, if Celtic`s well-paid defenders can`t motivate themselves to keep a clean sheet in a crucial game like that, it has nothing at all to do with the manager, who surely wouldn`t change from a great manager to a naff one in 2 minutes?!

I've always thought the same as you John, its always the same in football, hero to zero after 90 minutes!

I suppose it's easier to blame one man than the numbnuts on the pitch that are paid an arm and a leg for getting results.

Not sure O'Neils eye is on the ball. His wife is seriously ill at the moment and he is almost certain to quit Celtic and take a year off.

What about those Irons!!

Well, I`m sorry for O`Neill about his wife Geraldine, obviously. So why are Celtic`s nos. 2 and 3 management team also retiring?!

As for the Hammers - well, we beat Ipswich against all the odds (and I actually disagree with playoffs) so let`s hope we now do better than we did against Palace at the same stage last year!
