Turning 40 on 9-11

Post by Indian Princess »

I am sorta having problems turning forty this year, I was ok with it until I looked in the mirror the other day and noticed I have put on quite a bit of weight this year, and there are alot more gray hairs to color this time. Sorta feeling down.:(

When I'm feeling down all i have to do is look out of my window and see all the obese blobs walk past, then switch on 'Jeremy Kyle Show'

40 was a great age for me. I learned to stop worrying what others thought, and start having fun. Turning a year older sure beats the alternative. :D

I am with Peg on this one. At 40, you figure out that you have done your time serving others, and learn to rediscover yourself. And a year older really does beat the snot out of the alternative! :wah:

Just remember, age is a state of mind. ;)

You turn 40 on 9-11?

Try thinking of it this way: YOU TURN FORTY ON 9-11.

And just how many lost their lives on 9-11 and will NEVER see

another bday.

And then thank your lucky stars.

You will soon be singing this:D:wah:

Wondrous Things

Maalox and nose drops and needles for knitting,

Walkers and handrails and new dental fittings,

Bundles of magazines tied up in string,

These are a few of my favorite things.

Cadillacs and cataracts and hearing aids and glasses,

Polident and Fixodent and false teeth in glasses,

Pacemakers, golf carts and porches with swings,

These are a few of my favorite things.

When the pipes leak,

When the bones creak,

When the knees go bad,

I simply remember my favorite things,

And then I don't feel so bad.

Hot tea and crumpets, and corn pads for bunions,

No spicy hot food or food cooked with onions,

Bathrobes and heat pads and hot meals they bring,

These are a few of my favorite things.

Back pains, confused brains, and no fear of sinnin,

Thin bones and fractures and hair that is thinin,

And we won't mention our short shrunken frames,

When we remember our favorite things.

When the joints ache, when the hips break,

When the eyes grow dim,

Then I remember the great life I've had,

And then I don't feel so bad.

Funny you should mention this jimbo. :wah: One of my friends used to be a mortition & he would joke about times when he had to break a "perminent erection" on a stiff he was embalmbing! He was kinda weird though, & loved his work. (This was way before viagra was ever on the market)
